Why Do I Procrastinate Writing My Resume?Why do I procrastinate writing resume? A lot of people who are successful in the professional world have procrastinated writing their resumes. The reason they procrastinate is because they are fearful of submitting a resume that does not highlight their best skills.However, if you can take the fear out of it and make the process of finding your passion easier, then you will find that it is easier to get started. Here are some reasons why I procrastinate writing my resume.Procrastination on your resume will give you a higher chance of being hired on a regular basis if you start early in the process. In other words, if you start thinking about what to put on your resume and see a resume template on your computer screen that already has the information that you want, you will find that you will procrastinate later on. In this case, you may not only start getting discouraged but also start worrying about what others are thinking of you. Thus, you will end up leaving out important details about yourself in your resume.Another reason why I procrastinate writing my resume is because I will only come across information that will tell me how to do something. I will be told about things I need to know in order to create my resume. These types of sources will usually be very difficult to understand, and thus I will spend more time thinking about how to put it all together and not knowing how to actually put it all together.This fear of the unknown will also lead me to write down the whole process as I go along instead of thinking about ways to approach it. This will usually cause me to not finish a part of the process because I will try to find the best way to put it all together. As a result, I will not have a complete list of what needs to be put on my resume, and thus I will have wasted my time in this endeavor.People who have been out of the work force for a while often feel that why do I procrastinate writing my resume. This f ear is justified because once people find a job that they really enjoy doing, they will be willing to be more open with their resume. This means that even if you think that you do not want to talk about yourself too much, you will still find that you want to get better at putting your best foot forward.Once you get out of the habit of thinking about how do I do my best job, you will find that it is easier to be confident about yourself. However, if you think that your resume could use a little bit of work, you will be able to move forward without feeling self-conscious.The main reason why I procrastinate writing my resume is the fear of the unknown. By eliminating this fear, you will find that the rest of your life will be much easier to navigate.
